Easter Outreach celebrates the Resurrection by connecting churches with their neighbors through sharing meals.

Our History

For 15 years, Small Things Executive Director Vito Baldini has celebrated the Resurrection by feeding hungry people – a campaign called Easter Outreach. The ministry was started by Liberti Church Riverwards. As a pastor at Liberti Church Center City, Vito brought 90 churches together to provide 40,000 meals to their neighbors. When he founded Small Things in 2020, Vito brought Easter Outreach with him.

This year, 40+ churches will be getting a total of 5,000 bags of food from Small Things to give to their hungry neighbors. These are people who may not know where their next meal is coming from. They are people who must decide between paying their bills or buying food. Many are parents who go hungry so their children can eat.

Working with Convoy of Hope and our church partners, Easter Outreach will spark 40 Resurrection Celebrations across the city. These celebrations point to the good news of Jesus. They are community events that include meals, groceries, activities for kids, and prayer. What a great way for the church to be known in the community and to connect with their neighbors in a practical, tangible way. It’s the perfect picture of our guiding words:

How to Get Involved

Small Things has food for you!

  • Contact barb@smallthingsphilly.org to get involved. We want every church distribution to be a celebration of the Resurrection! We’re asking you to connect with your neighbors with a Resurrection Celebration. When you give away the food, we ask you to offer snacks, hold an activity for children, and host a prayer table so people can connect with their Savior.

  • Make a donation to help Small Things purchase the food we’ll be giving away. You can give online or by sending a check to Small Things at:

For over 15 years, Easter Outreach has united churches across Philadelphia to celebrate the Resurrection by providing meals to those in need. What started in 2010 as a small initiative by Liberti Church Riverwards has grown into Small Things Inc., a full-time food distribution network that has provided over 24 million pounds of food. In 2025, Easter Outreach continues its mission with Convoy of Hope, sparking 40 community celebrations filled with food, fellowship, and faith. From Feeding the Hungry to Building Friendships: The Lasting Impact of Metro Church’s Partnership with Easter Outreach

After being part of Easter Outreach, Metro Church leaders decided to distribute food monthly – not just at Eastertime. The church even upped its game and now delivers much of the food. The result is a strong connection with their neighbors.

“Through Easter Outreach, we built strong relationships, trained our congregation to engage with the community, and gained the trust of our neighbors. This connection led to even more opportunities to serve throughout the year,” said Josh. “Today, thanks to Easter Outreach, Metro Church continues to serve our neighbors in meaningful ways, delivering groceries and essential household items every month while engaging in daily conversations to listen, pray for, and help where we can.

What started as a simple outreach event has blossomed into real friendships, and we are no longer just neighbors to many in East Falls—we are true friends."
