Small Things NewsBits: Watermelons Galore
WATERMELONS GALORE!
What better way to wind down the summer than with a fresh, juicy watermelon? How about 8 pallets of watermelons?! Thanks to Small Things' newest partner, Sharing Excess, we were able to share 900+ melons with our partners, including Philadelphia Prevention Partnership. The team there offered the melons to its community and was left with an empty box in no time.

SMALL THINGS ADD UP
This campaign aims to create a sustainable and reliable source of funding to support our existing and future programs by asking for smaller monthly donations.
If enough people donate $25 a month, it will have a huge impact on what our organization can do.
It will also allow us to create better financial forecasts, which will give us the freedom to think bigger about what we can do to alleviate poverty in the Philadelphia Area.

EMMANUEL IS MOVING BACK INDOORS ON SEPTEMBER 24!
Emmanuel is moving back indoors on Sept 24! Emmanuel Ministry exists to serve marginalized populations in Center City – particularly individuals experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. At Emmanuel, we build connections with our guests through two methods, food and relationships.
Food: At Emmanuel, we look to serve every individual a hot, healthy, and delicious meal. This is the primary service we offer, and it is the foundation on which we build our connection. The meal provides an entryway into people’s lives as we provide a safe space for them to come regardless of their circumstances.
Relationships: By serving people well, we begin a trusting relationship that allows us to walk with people through life. This relationship model of engagement allows us to begin to see what people’s needs are beyond just the food we are offering.
