Small Things NewsBits: Emmanuel’s a Success

WE HAD A GREAT HOME OPENER AT EMMANUEL!

We've been really excited to bring Emmanuel back indoors, and Opening Weekend finally came! On Sept 14, we welcomed guests to sit down and be served a hot meal at Resurrection Philadelphia, one of our church partners.

Volunteers prepared and served a healthy and hearty meal of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans from scratch. A great time was had by all, and we're so happy to be back inside.

Special thanks to our own Barb Delp and Resurrection Church for everything you did to make this happen! Emmanuel takes place on Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and several volunteer shifts are available.

If you are interested in joining us, sign up here to volunteer.

CLEMENS FOOD GROUP IS AWESOME!

We would like to thank Clemens Food Group for a wonderful donation of Hatfield ham steaks! Our Driver Robert Ramos picked up six pallets of pork in Hatfield, Pennsylvania last week! It will all go to good homes.

Thank you, Clemens!

(All of us at Small Things have agreed this is one of our favorite pics of Robert!)

SHOWING LOVE FOR SUNDAYLOVE
& GREATER GOODS

Congratulations to our long-time partner, The Sunday Love Project, for opening a free grocery store called Greater Goods, located in the heart of Kensington.

This news comes on the heels of Margaux Murphy, Sunday Love's Executive Director, receiving the prestigious Philadelphia Award in recognition of her service in feeding and caring for the city's less fortunate. Way to go, Margaux!

REMINDER: SMALL THINGS ADD UP IS ONGOING

The Small Things Add Up Fundraising Campaign aims to create a sustainable and reliable source of funding to support our existing and future programs by asking for smaller, monthly donations. If enough people (our goal is 200!) donate $25 a month, it will have a huge impact on what we can do as an organization! It will allow us to create better financial forecasts which will give us the freedom to think bigger about what we can do to alleviate poverty in the Philadelphia Area (and we have some really BIG plans!).

If you are interested in helping us increase our impact through monthly donations, you can donate to the Small Things Add Up campaign by clicking here.
